The deal when
you buy Pier.
A one-time €199 licence. Two Macs per seat. A 14-day refund. Dutch law. The full text is below, written to be readable — no small print where the important bit lives.
These terms govern your purchase and use of Pier, a macOS application published by A Brand New Company B.V. ("we", "us", "ABN"), Amsterdam, KvK 88565548, BTW NL004626508B12. By buying or using Pier you agree to these terms. If you don't, don't buy it — or request a refund within 14 days per our Refund Policy.
The licence you buy.
When you buy Pier we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and use Pier on up to 2 Mac devices you personally own or control. You may not resell, rent, sublicense, or share your license key. You may not reverse-engineer Pier except to the extent expressly permitted by EU law (Directive 2009/24/EC Art. 6).
The licence is perpetual for the version you buy. Future major versions may be offered as paid upgrades.
Price and VAT.
Pier is sold at €199 one-time. EU consumers are charged the VAT rate of their country of residence via Stripe Tax; EU businesses with a valid VAT ID are invoiced under the reverse-charge mechanism. Non-EU buyers are not charged VAT. All prices are shown inclusive of applicable VAT at checkout.
Your responsibilities.
- You are responsible for the FTP / SFTP servers and databases Pier connects to, and for backing them up before any destructive operation. Pier has a built-in undo and snapshot history, but those are a convenience, not a guarantee.
- You are responsible for keeping your license key private. Anyone with your key can activate Pier on up to the seat limit.
- You may not use Pier to access systems you do not have authorisation to access.
What we promise.
We warrant that Pier is fit for the purpose described on pier.abn.company at the time of purchase. If Pier materially fails to work on a supported version of macOS (13 Ventura or later) within 30 days of purchase and we can't fix it, you get a full refund.
We'll keep Pier running against the Stripe + Supabase + Resend stack we describe in the Privacy Policy for as long as we can. If we ever shut Pier down, we'll give you 6 months notice and release a final signed build with offline-only licensing so your existing installs keep working.
What we don't promise.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Pier is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that Pier will work bug-free with every plugin, every FTP server, or every version of WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Magento, or custom PHP code you throw at it. We are not liable for consequential, incidental, or punitive damages — for example, for damage caused by an incorrect edit pushed to a production site, or for data loss on the server side that we could not reasonably foresee.
Our aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid for Pier in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or gross negligence where EU or Dutch law forbids such exclusion.
Revocation of your license.
We may revoke your license key without refund if we reasonably believe you've shared it publicly, used it to access systems you don't control, or charged back the purchase without contacting us first. Good-faith problems (lost key, wrong email, broken Mac) are always resolved by re-issuing — info@abn.company.
Governing law.
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam. EU consumer law protections override anything in these terms that would lessen them.
Changes.
If we change these terms in a way that affects existing customers' rights, we'll email every active licensee 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new terms. If you disagree, request a refund within those 30 days.
